DAY SEVEN: JASPER - LAKE LOUISE This morning, you'll enjoy a full-day guided tour from Jasper to Lake Louise traveling along the famous Icefields Parkway that links Jasper and Banff National Parks. Built in 1940, it is one of Canada's highest mountain roadways. Ascend from the low valleys almost to the treeline, and experience three life zones: the montane, the subalpine and the alpine. Our friendly guide will fill you in with all the pertinent facts while you're busy watching the moose, elk and mountain goats along the famous roadway. We'll stop at the most popular attractions along the way, such as Athabasca Falls, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake, so you can get a closer look and take some photos. At the Icefields Centre, admission is included to the Glacier Skywalk and Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure. The Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure is a once-in-a-lifetime ride out onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier in a specially-built all-terrain Ice Explorer. As the most easily accessible glacier flowing from the massive Columbia Icefield, the Athabasca Glacier has become the most visited glacier in North America. The Glacier Skywalk includes an interpretive cliff-edge walkway that leads to a breathtaking glass- floored observation platform suspended 280 meters (918 feet) above the Sunwapta Valley floor.  You'll spend the night at the Fairmont Lake Louise. Canada Place is a free family-friendly attraction located in the Parks Canada administration building; interactive displays bring the history and habitat of Canada to life. The Hoodoos are another must-see; the massive pillars of gravel, silt and rocks were bonded together over millennia by dissolved limestone. At nearby Lake Minnewanka, the largest lake in Banff National Park, visitors can either walk along the lakeside trail or sign up for the interpretive boat tour to learn about the area's history, native folklore and geology.
